As a leading home improvement retail group in Europe and Asia. information sharing and collaboration are the keys to success. The group existing Intranet is aging and difficult to maintain. Management finally made an executive decison to totally revamp the Intranet.

Solution

After studying the business requirements, the customer decided to go for a ready-made, extensible and scalable Portal platform which will grow with their business. Having evaluated many products on the market, they finally voted for IBM WebSphere Portal.

WebSphere Portal is a comprehensive portal solution, including all the necessary features essential to the customer.

As the number one priority is content management, we built their corporate Intranet Site using the built-in web content management system. Content editors from different region can contribute content.

In addition to web content, the powerful document management system allows customer to keep any kind of electronic documents online.

Discovering content is made simple with the search engine. The search engine can locate any information, documents in the Portal

There is a wealth of applications to enrich the Portal functionality, making it an indispensible tool. Applications such as forums, staff directory, integration to other systems are provided in the project.

The global portal was successfully launched merely in five months, thanks to the hard workand co-operation of the whole team from DMA and customer's.
